domestic helper

  • A domestic helper really makes a significant contribution to your family.  While your helper can take care of your household chores, you, as the employer, have to bear full liability towards your helper under the Employees’ Compensation Ordinance and the relevant employment contract.  You may also be at risk to suffer financial losses due to the wrongful act of your helper and/or any illness/accident sustained by your helper.

    To protect your interest and for your helper’s benefit, you may take out a comprehensive domestic helper insurance plan.

     

    Main Features*

Employees’ Compensation
Coverage provided to protect your legal liability as an employer to your helper under the “Employees’ Company Ordinance”.

Personal Liability
Coverage provided to protect your legal liability due to the act of your helper in respect of any accidental third party injury or accidental loss of or damage to their property.

Medical and Dental Expenses
Inpatient or outpatient medical expenses and dental expenses incurred by your helper will be reimbursed.  This benefit also extends to cover the expenses incurred for the treatment from registered Chinese Herbalist or Bonesetter.

Hospital Cash Allowance
In the event that your helper is confined to hospital up to a prescribed period, this benefit will pay cash allowance.

Personal Accident
Compensation for serious accidental injury or death suffered by your helper on rest days in Hong Kong.

Repatriation Expenses
Reimbursement of the cost of repatriating your helper to the country of origin if he/she is medically unfit to continue employment as a result of death, injury or illness.

Fidelity Protection
Compensation for any financial losses resulting from fraud or dishonest acts committed by your helper.

Re-hiring Expenses
This benefit will pay for the re-hiring expenses in the event that your helper is medically unfit to continue employment as a result of death, injury or illness.
